What I’ve never talked about publicly… until now.
This isn’t about games. It’s about why I started playing them in the first place, and what comes next.
What I’ve Never Talked About Publicly… Until Now
Hey friends, it’s X1.
If you know me, you know me through gaming, X1thegamer on YouTube, or the Xonebros Podcast that’s been going strong for years. None of that’s going away. The channel’s still running strong, and the podcast will keep showing up every week. Those are still a huge part of who I am.
But this post isn’t about gaming news. It’s about why I’ve built all of this in the first place.
From the beginning, I wanted to create spaces where people could connect, to build communities that felt positive, real, and fun. Gaming was always the bridge. It brought people together who might never meet otherwise, and I loved being part of that energy.
But over time, I started to see something else.
I’ve spent years working in the gaming world, creating content, building communities, and making it my full-time job. Along the way, I’ve watched a lot of good people burn out. People who started out passionate and hopeful, only to end up exhausted, anxious, and disconnected.
And over time, I realized I wasn’t any different.
I’d been so focused on building and producing that I stopped noticing how tired I’d become. I was still showing up, still creating, but running on fumes.
That’s when the idea for The Reset started forming.
It began as a question: What if we could hit reset in real life? Not just in our games, but in our minds, our routines, our relationships, even in how we see ourselves.
I’ve become really passionate about that idea. About slowing down, getting honest, and finding a better rhythm, one that actually leads to joy again.
That’s what The Reset is all about.
This newsletter is where I’ll talk about mindset, mental health, and what it means to stay human in an online world. The burnout, the loneliness, and the work of finding joy again in both gaming and real life.
If you’ve ever felt burned out, disconnected, or like the world’s gotten too loud, this space is for you. It’s a place to slow down, breathe, and remember who you are beyond the screen.
Many of you originally subscribed for my gaming takes, and I appreciate that more than you know.
If you want to continue this journey with me, I’d love to have you along for The Reset. But if it’s not what you signed up for, I completely understand, feel free to unsubscribe. You can still catch me every week on the X1thegamer YouTube channel and the Xonebros Podcast, doing what I’ve always done: talking games, community, and everything Xbox.
The first official post for The Reset drops soon, and I’d love for you to be here when it does.
Thanks for sticking with me, through the podcasts, the videos, the laughs, and now this new chapter.
Because sometimes, hitting reset is the bravest thing you can do.
Talk soon,
– X1
